Back GLI.TC/H 2112 on Kickstarter Today!
The Conference/Festival for Glitch Art and beyond is back for it’s 3rd year.
Some text from the campaign:
“GLI.TC/H was a simple idea hatched upon the notion of kindred spirits gathering together and engaging/chatting/debating the issues/theories/concerns of failure, systems, art, and glitches.
Out of that simple idea, grew a multi-faceted happening encompassing glitch art exhibitions, video screenings, panel discussions, realtime audio/video performances, hacking workshops, publications, and ongoing online components. These free & open public events have helped to gather, connect, expose and cultivate an extremely diverse, amazingly deep, somewhat quirky community made up of artists, educators, tinkerers, hackers and a public existing around and beyond this field that celebrates and investigates technological mishaps, digital hiccups, and failure.”

Glitch Textiles on Kickstarter
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/phillipstearns/glitch-textiles/
New Funding goal of $17,000
With 10 days remaining in what has been an incredible month, I’ve set a new funding goal for the Glitch Textiles: 200%.  We’re already 90% there!
If we meet this new goal, all backers will get a free download of desktop images from Year of the Glitch and the DCP Series.
I’ve also lifted all limits on prints and textile rewards!  So if you missed out before, consider upgrading your perk, add a print or even another textile!  Please help keep the momentum going and share with your family and friends.
Thanks for everyone who has helped catapult Glitch Textiles past the original funding goal.  With your help I’ll be realizing this awesome dream of making cutting edge textile based glitch art in Holland.  This new goal will allow me to explore the possibility of creating sweaters, knit caps, socks, bags, and other awesome fabric goods!

kickstarter:

Phil Stearns takes old digital cameras, rewires them, and “makes them dream.” (His words — check his rad project video.) The resulting images are technically glitches, but they’re colorful, strangely compelling, and each is totally unique. They’re also about to become textiles. Glitch Textiles, that is.

Thanks to all those who have signed on as backers so far!  Thank you, Kickstarter for promoting this project!  Stay tuned for some exciting updates!

Send the Glitch Textiles to the Netherlands!

I’m raising money to take the Glitch Textiles project to the Netherlands, home of the Audax Textielmuseum in Tilburg.  There, I’ll be working in the amazing TextielLab on newer, greater, finer, softer, stronger, bigger and better glitch textiles.

I can’t get there without your support though, so to sweeten the pot, I’ve come up with loads of rewards!

You love glitches; you love fashion, interior design, textiles and fabric arts; you need to back Glitch Textiles on Kickstarter.

Thanks!

Eyebeam needs your help!
Pledge at the $100+ level and receive a one of a kind working print (of an image like the one above) by Phillip Stearns, artist behind Year of the Glitch.

Eyebeam, the leading American organization supporting artists that work with technology, is launching a Kickstarter campaign to build a new, more public entrance into our building in Chelsea’s gallery district.  This renovation will give us and you a multi-use exhibition and presentation space in addition to our existing bookstore. To do this, we need your help.
